Sat on a tarmac for three hours before getting bussed back to a terminal w/ no AC for another four hours, then our nonstop had to stop in Minneapolis at 3am for a total 11 hour delay. People kept asking how we were doing this with five kids... I kept secretly wondering how they were doing it without them. #fatherhood #mycrew

tara_winterbotham My sil sent me your story. Today, I’m a follower. Can relate with the big family having four daughters and recently stuck in SA, TX for 48 hours. Getting 5 tickets + is difficult. I like the advice of being kind to the agents on the receiving end of so much frustration, when they have zero control of the circumstances. We road trip often and while both flying and driving long distances can be grinds, having a sense of humor and staying in the moment is the payoff. What could be more important than being in relationship with family and being kind to those you meet along the way?

tink2684 I’ve been known to show up at places with friends’ kids b/c they wanted to go out but were scared to take the kids, but I can have fun with small humans anywhere so I don’t mind going out with them ? summer nights outdoor fun? jluz03 I have four siblings and from the oldest to the youngest is only 7 years. I am the middle child and let me tell you that growing up I never felt like we had a large family. We never got to take a lot of family vacations or go out for dinner, but we have a lot of family traditions and my mom and dad always made sure we had everything we needed.

I’m just one person but you have to juggle 5 children. Congratulations on making it. Now you need a vacation from the vacation!
