krysta_belle88 Finished listening to your book today driving back from a swim meet (coincidentally) at U of M (coincidentally.) Thoroughly enjoyed the first 23 chapters, the last 2 were pretty fucking depressing. I was saddened by the SOA portion, but I do think the last 2 seasons jumped the shark. I think the Sons existed in a mythical world in the beginning, because Sutter wanted the 1% aspect inasmuch as okay, we want this to be a crime syndicate, but the 99% aspect in that we never would have loved the characters enough for a series if they'd actually treated the women like a 1% club. So, fine, it was this wonderful alternate reality where we could have both. In the end, I think Sutter chose to try to please the real clubs over the fans & the actors; and that attempt at authenticity cost the show its own, and it made for a messy last 2 seasons where a lot of the characters went full paper & then he desperately tried to reel them back into a forced morality that didn't ring true. Not to mention cameo vomit: Courtney seemed legit stoned & while I like Marilyn M,. that role was far too meaty for a novice. I enjoyed H of G, and think it really found its groove at the end, but you could definitely tell there were more cooks involved, somethimes to its detriment. Madly creative & fascinating, but more disjointed than Sons. Anyway, I hope we see you in more things, and your book was amazingly well written. My kid heard a lot of things in those stories that I think will serve him well even though he's not in the arts. Lots of good life lessons there. Thanks for a great read.

I listened to the commentary and you made fun of the way you spoke French. I learned that Miete means crumb in French, I took French for 4 years and never learned that word. I discovered Marianne Faithful from the movie The City of Lost Children. Her haunting voice was the song in the credits and I can listen to it over and over. True fans should watch that beautiful movie!
