Today I depart to Mount Gargano on the east coast of Italy. The reason can be debated but upon parting ways with Spartacus, Crixus & his followers faced the Roman army under the command of the Roman consul Lucius Gellius Publicola near Mount Gargano in 72 BC. Crixus, who is said to have fought bravely in a losing effort, was killed in the Battle.
The journey which has led me to this historic location, the story of Crixus which has enabled my career & the viewing audience of the TV series Spartacus an inspirational example of slaves fighting for freedom, an offering is due to honor the ultimate sacrifice made by these men & women who died upon this sacred ground.
At Sunset today I will stand atop Mount Gargano & perform a haka in tribute of Crixus, Spartacus & those who died alongside them in their pursuit of freedom.

I watched many series over the years, but none of them is like Spartacus. You did an amazing job as Crixus, I don't think anyone else could have done it the way you did it. The dialogues were EPIC always or funny or cool or both! And the fight for freedom and life made me want to join each fight! Many series should learn from Spartacus. In the meanwhile I just think I'll rewatch it for the 30+ time ?

There are only two things in this world worth living and dying for and they are love and freedom. @manubennett there is no doubt in my mind that you honor those who have fought for the birth right of all human kind, to be free from those who have tried to oppress or control others. May love and freedom always triumph!

You were amazing as Crixus, @manubennett. My favorite character and perfomance throughout the entire series! Can anyone deny that the words, "Shall we begin?" have so much weight with so little said?

Awesome mate. Good on you. So much is made of recent war heroes, it’s easy to forget the ancient battles and the people who fought in them. Spartacus’ slave revolt was one of the great causes
