One night after we played, Joe started writing with someone new....someone from our favorite show to watch on the tour bus.... someone who made him smile and blush into the soft glow of his phone. Her name was (and still is) Sophie. Months later we were in England and Joe brought me as his wing-person to finally meet Sophie in person at a bar in Camden. From the moment we walked in and they saw each other, Joe has never been the same. Suddenly He was better, brighter, happier, sillier, and just JOE-er. They were like two crazy funky beautiful puzzle pieces that just fit together like ice and cream. One week ago I had the intense honor and privilege of helping Joe get dressed for something far bigger than a concert. I stood smiling, crying, and cheering beside them as he and Sophie exchanged marriage vows, knowing it was always the same magic that has been palpable and contagious since the first moment years ago.
