What have I, or those I represent, to do with your national independence? Are the great principles of political freedom and of natural justice, embodied in that Declaration of Independence, extended to us?…The sunlight that brought light and healing to you has brought stripes and death to me. This Fourth of July is yours, not mine. You may rejoice, I must mourn…There is not a nation on the earth guilty of practices more shocking and bloody than are the people of these United States at this very hour.

Your football career got washed up so you’re looking for a way to still get attention. Nike May bend to your every wish, but the American people genuinely think you’re a cunt. You’re the exact opposite of the first African American to get the Medal of Honor in the civil war. He got shot in the arms, legs, and body, but refused to let the flag touch the ground. You got paid millions just to play football, you get on tv, you lived a nice life as an NFL qb. Then you turn around and complain about the system you benefited from???? You complain about a flag that was made by a pioneer of the women’s suffrage movement meant to be a symbol of unity and strength because it existed in a time of slavery??? Meanwhile Obama had them flying at his inauguration. The Philadelphia 76ers have them as their logo. You get called a hero for kneeling for the flag, the same flag that African American hero’s died defending??? They knew they were thought poorly of, but they loved this country. You are an absolute disgrace, you don’t deserve the millions of dollars you got paid because apparently the WHITE TEAM OWNER, and the CAPITALIST SYSTEM they afforded you that money hates people like you. You are not a hero. You are not brave. You are not popular. Nobody cares about what you have to say. You haven’t sparked a movement. You live in this country, you became richer than many Americans ever will, yet you decide to trash this country that people die trying to enter... The exact opposite of a role model and the exact opposite of a hero.

@kaepernick7 Hey Kap big 49er fan here fucked up what they did to ya. I am from Hawaii and we are suffering a big crisis now as well, Please show some love and support for us here in the 808 state by showing support for our Mauna Kea and help us to prevent the construction of the TMT Telescope on our sacred Hawaiian grounds of the Mauna! Your support would be so awesome and appreciate by all people of all 8 islands of Hawaii!, you took a stand for racism, police brutality and other wrong doings and we ask for support from such a leader as yourself to assist us in helping protect what little Gawaiian culture and history we have left! Please Kaepernick! We show alot of love to your people and support for what you do! Return the favor to us people here in Hawaii! Do research if you have too on what Mauna Kea means to the people of Hawaii if you have too and how sacted it is! But it would be awesome to hear your voice out there in support of us! ???

In other words, we can’t deny Kapernick’s right to speak his mind, but we shouldn't ignore the flaws in his thinking. He has argued that the Betsy Ross flag is “racist,” because it flew at a time when slavery was legal in America. By that definition, aren’t crosses are also racist? Weren’t they on churches attended by slave-owning congregants? Why not demand their removal? What about the Bald Eagle? Wasn't our national bird flying around when slaves were held? Why not protest it as well? What about the Great Seal? E Pluribus Unum? The Liberty Bell? It rang countless times while slavery was still the law of the land. Why not demand its removal? Kaepernick's argument is unpersuasive, not because it's unpopular, or unpatriotic. It's unpersuasive because it's completely void of logic.

you do realize we live in the best country in the world, right? we have freedom, a strong economy, a stable government, a strong military, etc. a lot of other countries, in fact most, don’t have all that, and you should be grateful. military officers fight for our country every single day risking their lives, and the fact that you cannot respect that is selfish and utterly horrible. no, our country is not perfect. we have racists and homophobes just like any other country but that doesn’t mean all americans are like that and that america itself isn’t worth being respected. if you step into any other country, you will not have the same opportunities you have here. our country has prospered through the years and deserves respect from every one of its inhabitants.

EXACTLY!!! Fuk a July 4th and "Independence Day". Declaration of Independence..I always said none of them "documents" have anything to do with me nor my people! All those men that declared a better life for former slaves already OWNED slaves and sold their families. So I teach my kids exactly what was meant for US. And to never allow anyone to make them feel little or less than. Period!! Once you know the truth and live it everyday, not calling myself a victim of anything cuz I sure as hell ain't, knowledge is your power. Use it to better yourself and your people!! That's what Colin is doing and I appreciate it! 😎💓🖤💚 @kaepernick7

Why are you mourning? You weren’t a slave nor will ever be one your ancestors may have been but you are not nor was anyone else in this day. Your making it sound like the white people should be guilty and apologize for something we didn’t do that all of our ancestors did years ago. You have it made. You don’t have to work another day in your life with all the money you have from the NFL nor would your kids. And you think you have it bad and are oppressed? You wouldn’t know anything about it. Don’t sit there and post all this bullshit about how you think your not being treated right or equal in this country! You sorry ass pusscake
