Happy Fourth!! I really respect the author Jack Carr. His books are really cool. And he fought for his country. Today we Americans celebrate with parades, fireworks, laughs, love and family. I really like what Jack has to say below.
I personally believe it’s important to reflect upon the idea of America. Any institution made by humans is bound to be imperfect. But it is our responsibility to strive to improve, to form a “more perfect union”. What can we do? How can we heal this growing divide? I feel like recognizing the fact that nobody is perfect is a start. It allows us to judge less, to realize despite our differences we have common ground And what is our common ground? In the words of Abraham Lincoln “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Sounds good to me!

Quick edit: Yes, Jefferson wrote the words and later Lincoln spoke them. Interesting point to see how that idea evolved to mean so much more by then. What can it mean today? We continue to evolve. We strive to be more perfect. 🙏❤️🇺🇸 #Repost @jackcarrusa

I highly encourage all Americans to read the Declaration of Independence today, and every Fourth of July, with their families, as a tribute to those who pledged their Lives, their Fortunes, and their sacred Honor so that we could inherit the freedoms we enjoy today. Take the opportunity that Independence Day affords to discuss, particularly with your children, the freedoms and opportunities we’ve been entrusted to uphold, and our responsibility as citizens to pass them on to future generations. shannon.rabon I just want to tell you that I don’t follow celebrities. I don’t care what celebrities do. But, I follow the news and I love this country and the freedom that it represents. I have seen recently that many media outlets and twitter users have condemned you for wearing a “don’t tread on me” flag shirt. I applaud you for wearing that shirt and what it represents— freedom and the American ideal of freedom. Yes, America has its flaws, but that flag and those men and women that fought for our nation have given us a republic where we can grow and change and make sure that all people that live under the American banner can do so according to the dictates of their conscience. Those principles that our founders fought for and ratified in the Constitution give all of us— black, brown, tan, white, Jew, Muslim, Christian, gay, straight, or whatever more freedoms than any other people have ever had in history. May we continue to celebrate that legacy. Thank you for standing up for those principles.

Not according to gender, nor ethnicity, etc. ⬜️ Mankind = Humanity. ⬜️ But the one on the left was more patriarchal, always. ⬜️ I was going to read all the comments, but after about 20 of the responses. I feel like many focused on divisive or defensive postures. Over 1,000 of the same does not seem worth reading, if I miss a few gems, so be it. ⬜️ So I leave my own response. I agree with what was written in the original post. Minus a few of the hashtags, since I don’t fully know what they mean. Just clarifying. ⬜️ But reality is conflict is part of life. But there is still hope for more peacemaking. For those who don’t give up. ⬜️ Ultimately respecting free will choice and the consequences of choices. Whether good or bad. ⬜️ For me, it’s a Christ centred, biblically sound and in context Truth in Agape Love?✝️???

And, is evidenced not only in scripture of our laws, and anthems, but also from the writings of our forefathers, Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, etc. Our declaration of independence states, "we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by OUR CREATOR with certain inalienable rights, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." And, believe me...you should be glad...because if we are not a Nation based on Jesus Christ we would have never been this great Nation and you would not have your rights respected as a human. If God ever leaves the core of our Nation, are Nation will fall.

liquidswords74 I love the USA....the land of opportunity. I love visiting the great land.....it’s history is dark. Same as the U.K. The atrocities can never be undone. Humans must live as one and look forward. Celebrating old values is frankly ridiculous. America was built on immigration and slavery. Immigration is a natural cycle of this great world....free to roam and settle. Be free and do the best you can with what you have. Humility is the key to happiness. As an Englishman I find Independence Day like a movie......pure Hollywood, fiction and fantastical. All nations need to move forward as one. Fuck war and division! Fuck racism in all forms.
