We’re not waiting for anyone to “give us” equality.
We’ll just take it, thank you very much.

@richwalsh16 but no reason why she’s paid less than Michael Bradley. Bradley doesn’t have a fraction of the accomplishments Alex Morgan has, and he’s paid like LeBron BEFORE he won his first title in Miami. More viewership on women’s soccer games than men’s soccer (USWNT got 7 million in ratings this week vs 1.35 for the men’s), more money is being spent on women’s soccer apparel than men’s (Nike paying US soccer federation to reproduce and sell the USWNT jersey’s), and more people starting to play in US soccer federation sanctioned leagues BECAUSE PF THE USWNT! All that means more money for the soccer federation, but they’ll pay the USWNT less than $2 million to split if they WIN the WC on Sunday, and gave the men’s team $5 million to split for not making it to the cup last year. Your argumentation is sexist because you aren’t educated on the matter but wish to project your disdain for women’s sports into the argument, even though there is 0 difference in how the game is played between the genders.

@zozprime the soccer federation should be paying the 3 time WC champions more than the $5 million “Hey men’s team, you tried and failed. Here’s a consolation prize for not making the cup” when no men’s team has been able to make it to back to back finals in the 30 years I’ve been on this rock. You’re grasping at straws pathetically as the USA Soccer federation is engaging in sexist business practices and you’re excising their sexist behavior based on your own sexist views of sports. There’s no other logical reasoning. I mean, Kim Kardashian does what Lionel Messi does on social media. The US president does what Lionel Messi does on social media. And the US soccer federation pays a 2 time WC champion (U21 and big club) less than $1 million to compete, but pays Michael Bradley and Josie Altadore more than $10 million. It. Is. Bad. Business. And. Sexist. As. More. Americans. Watch. Women’s. Soccer!

@fashionablysmrt the point your missing is the pay gap is between the winners of the World Cups and NOT the US women and men. The high profile players actually make the same, if not more, for the women due to generating revenue for their jerseys. If you think FIFA should redistribute money from the men’s World Cup to the Women’s then yes, they should be paid more, but that’s up to FIFA. The women’s champion made 20% of 131M of all revenue generated and the men’s champion made 7% of 6B. It’s not fair to compare the countries’ teams when it has NOTHING to do with them. Especially when the US women’s team should be winning. They are 1 of 4 teams worldwide to have year around training and training facilities that are the same as men.

@hussein.su agreed, if both women and men were paid equal, then both women and women could fight to stop the federation from exploiting all the players. I hate to say the federation tactics are similar to the tactics that made slavery successful as well as racism and sexism. All you have to do is to create conflict between the people your exploiting which will cause smaller group fighting for different types of rights. Imagine if the men sat down with the female players and join them in the fight. They could sue the federation payment inequality and profit sharing. The case would have been much stronger and resolved in a shorter time because The federation cares about their reputation and ability to continue to make more money

@richwalsh16 bro, stop trying to put your shattered masculinity back together. Accept your sexism and move on with your life. There’s no reason Alex Morgan, a multiple MLS cup winner, a U20 WC champ AND a WC champ is paid 5% of what Michael Bradley makes with all the supplementary revenue generated by the US soccer federation in regard to the success of the USWNT. I mean, the soccer federation gave the men $5 million as a participation trophy for not doing their job in qualifying for the 2018 WC. Now, not everyone has tomorrow off, and it’s a long day. Enjoy screaming into your online echo chamber, because I’m going to bed #yoursportslogicisflawedsnowflake

@brewmastersuhadolnik Dude I think you’re confused, you seem to get 1/2 of it and totally ignore the rest.
You seem to feel a lot about it but can’t explain how they wound pay for it.
Money doesn’t magically appear.
It’s a massive flaw in your reasoning.
You’re like they should because they won, they are popular in the US for this one minute, ignoring the fact that the US market is nothing when it comes to soccer.
Globally the biggest leagues make a butt tone of money and pay their players very well.
The less popular leagues can’t afford to pay their players the same, it’s not about fair it’s about having the revenue and profits to actually do it.
