In 2011, Courtney Adamo set up her Instagram account to share photos with her family. Today, the mother of five has a quarter of a million followers and a seemingly perfect life. But can it be real? At the #linkinbio, Adamo and the surfing mamas of Byron Bay take V.F. inside their idyllic world.

I follow Courtney Adamo (real name is Adams, btw. They changed it to sound 'more European'). It's definitely a fantasy life. Someone tagged one of Courtney's kids in an 'unofficial' photo a while back and the girl was wear a grubby navy tee and shorts and looked normal. So it isn't linen all the time. Should also be noted that 5 kids at Steiner ain't cheap!! Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth sends his kids to the local primary...

While I appreciate the issues being raised in this issue— privilege, the toxicity of social media culture, the complete permeation of consumerism in our lives— I found myself wondering what was initially said to these influencers before they agreed to be interviewed for this piece. But if you’re an Australian reader don’t think you’ll get decent access to this story set in Australia. After years of subscribing I’m currently locked out of on-line content with just formulaic responses from Condé Nast. Either they are in disarray of just too arrogant to attempt to retain existing subscribers. Upside is I’ve discovered how good is Rolling Stone.

So I have recently joined as an ITWorks distributor and am trying to help people with our products. I’m looking for 4 more people to be product models for me for ItWorks! All you have to do is try a product for 90 days and tell me what you think! You would get my huge discount for helping me out!! DM me for more info!

Great article. This just scratches the surface of the toxic influencer culture. I’d like to see publications like VF cover issues such as the ethics of using images of children to sell stuff, the duplicitous nature of the covert advertising, the lack of any effective regulation of the industry. So much material.

No one has perfect lives. WHY are they all so thin? What are the husbands doing while they are all feeding humus to their kids? and why do they all look exadtly the same? Stepford wives by the beach. but i hope they make it xxx
