@taylorboone334 I agree 100% with the Rogers angle....I just don’t think at this time you handcuff yourself with big contracts...the team is young...average mlb age being 28....yes it’s frustrating...I just hate hearing the AA argument...I don’t disagree with him going for it in ‘15...but it def came at a cost...no farm talent or prospects to use in trades etc...it’s not always throw money at a guy and they will come...yes Toronto is a big market....it is also in Canada which comes with its own challenges and stigmas with mlb players...at this point you can see huge potential with this team and some of these players....potential yes doesn’t always result in a dynasty or WS champ but it’s a start...and with a plethora of talent in the minors they are on the right path....save the money to keep your bigs guns 3-5yrs down the road...build it and they will come...

@gordybigdave no, but maybe 80 mil with Toronto is better than 50 will Philly for example. And it wouldn’t have HANDICAPPED a team who can afford it. That’s my own issue. The blue jays have always been treated like a small market team but Toronto is allegedly the 5 largest market in North America. And the ownership group has more money than any other owner. However I do agree it wouldn’t have been a good idea to sign him. My point though is that if they really WANTED to, they could be major players. The issue has always been ROGERS COMMUNICATIONS. They don’t treat it like a sports team but rather a business

@maxdomeme agreed...what’s Joey Bats doing? What’s JD doing...avg player with the Braves...EE left when he was offered a better deal here...who else should the Jays have kept!?! @the_dude_is_the_joker doesn’t answer this simple question....who should the Jays have kept? Offered big contracts to? Either FA’s or through trades? The answer....Spend....doesn’t answer one question! Simply...Who? Name names? Who do they trade? Sign? Go after?....waiting???

My parents have been season ticket holders since 1977. In 1979 109 losses. A couple World Series wins. 4 million fans two years in a row. Frequently better then 2.2 million. Some under 1.6 million. They may loose 100 this year. Bummer and likely attendance will go down. We know if the Jay's win the fans will be back but you need enough to stay year after year. Happy Canada Day.

Raising the prices twices in the last two years and offering limited crappy flex pack deals was the last draw for me. Now you see how empty stadium has been... rather watch it on Sportsnet then waste my money at Roger's centre
