In that wheelchair is 81 year old Charles Ray Finch. 43 years ago, when he was just 38 years old, all the way back in 1976, he was deliberately framed by police and prosecutors for a robbery and murder that he had absolutely nothing to do with - nothing at all. He’s been on death row for 43 years. Now unable to walk out of the prison on his own, denied justice since Jimmy Carter was the President of the United States, since 3 years before I was even born, he has just been exonerated and local prosecutors have admitted that he was framed. It’s AN ABOMINATION. No paycheck can ever repay this man for the price he just paid. I did the math. He spent 15,695 days in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. We have to be able to hold police and prosecutors accountable for these actions.
