What do you see here? 🤔 Solar wind radiating from behind an eclipse? An optometrist’s scan of a human eye? This image is actually a satellite view of clouds forming high in the atmosphere, centered above the North Pole. ⁣

To create this image, our spacecraft measured albedo, or the amount of light reflected back to space by the high-altitude clouds. The map is a composite view stitched together from several satellite passes. ⁣

Image Credit: Joshua Stevens, using Cloud Imaging and Particle Size (CIPS) data from the NASA AIM mission and the University of Colorado Boulder. ⁣
