Today peaceful French climate activists and school strikers in Paris were sprayed with teargas. The same day, it was 45,9° in France in JUNE. It shattered the old record of 44,1° (which was set in August 2003).

nomad_2404 C'était l'objectif de l'ONG de faire parler, ils ont réussi, donc de ce point de vue, job done. La manif était illégale (non déclarée), les manifestants ont bloqué la circulation ce qui est aussi interdit. C'est une organisation de désobéissance civique. Donc quand les policiers sont venus leur demander de se retirer, évidemment ils ont dit non. Les policiers ont essayé par plusieurs moyens et toujours non (again, ils promeuvent la désobéissance civile). Il ne restait plus que la violence. Et si l'usage des gaz me choque aussi, il faut reconnaître que l'ONG a obtenu ce qu'ils voulaient, couverture médiatique et réseaux sociaux. Donc, de leur point de vue c'est plutôt un succès.

You‘re complaining about a video of policemens (doing what’s they asked to do) using teargas on these young fellas but you don’t give a shit about this bc the next second you will be more worried by the last booty pic or the last makeup release. jacqistyle I am really in favor for people coming up for their rights and for our climate. Moreover, to be properly informed is another virtue that we should all strive for. Therefore I am happy to inform you that it was around 35 degrees in Paris that day (still hot!!) and that people who protested where sprayed with water, not teargas. This changes the narrative...
