Thank you so much for this. I’m in NY -celiac 8 years, traveling, and your advice about packing our own food was excellent. The heat, hunger, anxiety and foggy was around lack of choices and then some poor planning, although it’s getting better, caused a lot of fatigue. Most of all thanks for sharing because then we don’t feel so alone. ?

My saving grace is always a sweet potato. I ask the hotel for a microwave in my room or if they’ll heat it up. But it is so hard traveling internationally. Best thing to do is rent an apartment so you have your own kitchen. Good luck & enjoy!

Good luck! I am so afraid of travel for these reasons. I can’t even eat out bc of cross-contamination. I am very good at bringing my own food everywhere I go...so easy to forget though on a vacation! Be well!

Thanks for sharing! I was diagnosed at 48 and it’s been a struggle. Went to Cuba and just got back 10-days ago. Ate lots of rice and beans and was very careful, but yes traveling and being celiac is tough!
