Today is National PTSD Awareness Day.
It is estimated that 11-20% of veterans have PTSD.
Here is one Marine’s story.

I asked for help for PTSD as a corpsman and was illegally kicked out of the Navy for a personality disorder. All I was taught is that asking for help will ruin your career. So far nearly 100,000 marines, sailors, soldiers, and Airmen have been illegally kicked out of the military since 2001. Seek help outside the military

I think so much unreported, and the number is higher for those currently serving and veterans with PTSD. So many serving fear a mental health or medical separation if the seek services and those retired still fear of stigma of "needing" help. Support our service members! ???

11-20% is a ridiculous number. The majority of my veterans have PTSD (60%) and that is just in our hospital, plus the none reported because of shame in mental health. Do not mask the numbers. our veterans deserves all our support. No shame on that. ? MARINES!!

I have PTSD and my do, Jack is my shadow....he is symbiotic with me. I feel secure when he is with me and he feels secure with me. He doesn't need a leash...he walks beside me every step of the way, stops at road crossings when I do. I am thankful for him.
