It absolutely kills me to say this – especially given what has happened in the past few weeks – but on the advice of my vocal surgeon, I am going to have to cancel my next shows through until July 14th and I hope to be back as soon as possible after that. I know many of my fans feel I let them down so badly when I pulled out of the Isle of Wight festival but the reason I knew I just wasn’t going to be able to make that performance has now been made clear to be by my doctor, Dr Zeitels. It is true that I went out and celebrated the end of the Spice World tour. That was a massive high for me and I wanted to mark it with the women who’d become friends and mentors to me but I had also been suffering on and off for weeks with anxiety about my voice. It wasn’t right. I wasn’t sounding my best and I felt there was something wrong. Two days ago I came to Boston to see my surgeon who told me my vocal chord has haemorrhaged and that if I wanted to remain as a performer I needed to urgently take a break, rest my voice completely for the next 10 days and try and remain in total silence to give my vocal chords a chance to recover. Basically he told me I have been completely overdoing everything. In the last six months I’ve performed almost 100 shows, I’ve pushed through at times when I know I’ve been tired and overstretched and I got to breaking point, my voice literally got to breaking point. The thing is I am my voice. If my voice goes, I go. I am so privileged to do what I do, I am so privileged to have fans out there who come and see me. But I never want to be less than 100 percent. I never want to give you less than 100 percent. I am so devastated to be letting anyone down but I want you to know the full truth of my situation so you understand why I have to do this. All I know is I have to go away, look after my voice and come back stronger, better and be the performer my fans truly deserve 🖤

caitlanweston Jess. You are incredible,I saw you on the last night of spice world,at Wembley,and you were amazing! We know you always try your best,and continue to push yourself and you always do!but sometimes you’ve gotta give yourself and rest and do what’s best/right FOR YOU,we all have to at some point. Never feel bad,your number 1 in your life and you have to put yourself first. I’m right behind you now,and will remain the same when your ready to come back. Rest well and take care @jessglynne x

kathlbolton95 look after yourself first. true fans will be more heart broken if you loose your voice and can no longer singer at all forever. hope you have a speedy recovery. I saw you at Manchester with spice girls and then at haydock races. There was a difference in performances you seemed like you were struggling at haydock. But I thoroughly enjoyed both performances ??❤️ @jessglynne good luck with no talking. I couldn’t do it hehe ??‍♀️

jshaffer0715 I am sorry to hear about your vocal issues. Were these issues what led to your decision to return home prior to the Columbus, Ohio concert with Leon Bridges? I was very sad to find out that you were not at the show.While we enjoyed Leon, our reason for going to the show was to see you. We first heard you last summer on the Today Show and became instant fans. We hope to have an opportunity to see you sometime in the future.

suewilson39 Sorry, sent a comment before I had finished writing... so sorry to hear that you are unwell and hope you rest up and feel better soon. Come to Herne Bay for rest and recovery . Rochester Castle is also a cancelled performance but strength and well being matters more. Look forward to seeing you back on your feet when you feel ready. francescaanne.p You sounded incredible on the last night of the spice girls tour, take rest and i hope it gives you the opportunity to come back feeling on top form. When our bodies are our livelihood it's so heart breaking when we can't do what we want but we have to listen and take the rest. Sending healing wishes

jon39kemp @jessglynne I just think your fans deserve to know in advance as I’m sure people have made travel allowances ( booked rail/coach tickets etc, booked over night accommodation, taken the time of work etc) it’s better that we know early so we can sort stuff out and re-plan x
