In December 1983 he had recorded a demo for the song “The Glamorous Life,” and with the addition of Shiela’s vocals and percussion to it in the spring of 1984 it became a massive hit. “The Glamorous Life” skyrocketed to #1 on the dance charts and climbed into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, while Sheila’s debut album The Glamorous Life was certified gold. 🔸 “It seemed like only five minutes ago that he’d persuaded me to sing a duet with him. Now he’d convinced me that I should be the lead singer in my own band!
