This is my brother Jamal Greene’s wife, human rights activist lawyer Elora Mukherjee describing what she saw at our border. She has been visiting these facilities for 12 years. She says it’s never been as bad as it is now under the Trump administration. Here is the info she has asked the family to share about what can be done to help. Go head sister law!
To help alleviate the crisis at border detention facilities, here are a few suggestions that you may wish to consider: (1) Contact Senators and congressional representatives and demand an immediate congressional hearing on the appalling conditions in border detention facilities. (2) Support non-profit organizations working with refugees and asylum seekers. Some non-profit organizations that work along the border are trying to help meet the basic daily needs of hundreds of refugees, including Annunciation House in El Paso. Other organizations provide free legal assistance such as Al Otro Lado, the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project, and the International Refugee Assistance Project. These are just a few of the many terrific organizations that you might want to consider supporting. (3) Share the news about Clint and similar detention centers with those in your networks. So many folks do not know about the appalling, heartbreaking conditions that children are facing in secure detention centers run by the federal government. If more people understand the conditions, perhaps we can change them. (4) To sign up for volunteer opportunities at the border with detained children, please visit the Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law.

Your govt gives a blind eye to them yet you advocate for people who aren't citizens. Don't you see the contradictions in this?
