San Francisco will become the first US city to ban the sale of e-cigarettes, after the city’s board of supervisors voted in favor of an ordinance on Tuesday. The ordinance says "no person shall sell or distribute an electronic cigarette to a person in San Francisco" unless that product has undergone premarket review by the US Food and Drug Administration. To date, none have. This includes sales in brick-and-mortar stores, as well as online sales shipped to a San Francisco address. The measure does not ban the use of e-cigarettes among people 21 and older. Photo: Eva Hambach/Getty Images

I'm all for some regulatory testing of these devices and their liquids, because there's some dangerous ones out there, but that being said, more often than not it's still better (more accurately: less harmful) than actual smoking. And e-cigarettes helped me to finally to quit smoking (real tobacco at first, and e-cigs later) after many _many_ previous attempts. So I would hate them being banned completely as others might benefit of them too.

We can't do this we can't do that what's next???? I never smoked, my husband did since a teenager through the years he quit off and on and after he retired he just flat out quit. I never smoked but after all these years I bought a vape cig Blueberry Raspberry and I smoke it every now and then I don't inhale it does relax me. But I just do it for fun.??

Great! It is despicable that the e-cig manufacturers try to market these things as a healthy alternative to tobacco cigarettes !
