Although I’m (@blakegore) not quite as old as this vintage television, I’m getting dangerously close to my 40th birthday…and I started drawing 10 months ago.

Unlike this old TV, people are dynamic. We can grow and learn as long as there is breathe in us. We often just have to put our ego aside, take a chance, and put in the work. I had to remind myself of this a lot when I began #drawing less than a year ago with no formal training. I’ve always had a creative desire, but it took almost four decades to give it a shot and just put myself out there.

Is there something that you’ve wanted to learn or do for years? What tiny step could you take today to start building momentum in that direction?

mars.mannix Wait... You only started 10mos ago? No training??? How did you teach yourself? How did you improve without a guide to tell you your mistakes? I’m sorry to seem so weird, but I’ve been trying to be an artist since 1970, and I can only draw pickles. I like pickles, but I’d love to draw dogs, lemurs, birds, & abstracts. If you can answer, I thank you very much.

acornwillows I love this! ❤️ I'm 42 and began drawing and painting just a couple of years ago! I love seeing the magnificent artists that don't begin until they are in their 80's and 90's! So inspiring!
