Since the passage of the First Step Act in December, I’ve been speaking with people coming home from prison and learning about the challenges they are facing. While I have been able to offer support to some of the individuals I have met, the obstacles to success are an everyday struggle for thousands and more needs to be done. It was an honor to take part in the announcement that the administration and private sector will be stepping up to create opportunities for these men and women to succeed once home.
I’m proud to partner on this initiative with @Lyft , a company with a history of taking bold action to do what’s right for our community. Thank you for providing ride share credits to formally incarcerated people when they come home.
If there are any other companies who would like to step up, we would welcome the support. At the moment we have a particular need for cell phones and minutes so that these people can communicate with potential employers and with their loved ones.

You can learn a lot about people in prison when you work in there and get to talk to them i-41 work in the prison system interviewing inmates and got to know them as people. What I find interesting is so many people have been working towards this particular move but all of a sudden something is done because you show up it's cuz Trump doesn't want to talk to anybody else but you that's the sad part. And your project is only working on federal prisons there's way more people in state prisons that need to be helped and county jails and you seem to be taking all the credit.. there's so many people that I've been working on this issue

Ya I struggle everyday. I'm a single mom got caught up doing the wrong things almost lost my life to the system and got a second chance at freedom with my baby girl but once you have been in the system it's so hard to transition back into society. I have great plans but it looks like in order to get to where I need to be I will have to hustle for it. Every employer so far has shut me down because of my record and it's seriously discouraging I just want to do better for myself and my daughter. I think it's great what you are doing. We need restorative justice. To bad you can only make changes in the US.

The fact that you even support someone like Donald trump show who you are he treats women like they are less than men and you of all people know that’s not true you are a reality tv star who is with a rapper and they want to be in office wow I can see a tax break for the rich coming but you would not have to worry about that so just go back to your corner of the world where you don’t care about those who have less than you ?

? Proud of you Kim. At least your trying to help bring awareness to an important issue. There are other women on here who just want to bring you down at all costs. If your white, black, mixed, whatever your skin color, why does it always have to go back to that? People should just focus on the help. It's never going to get better if it's always going back to that!! I don't understand the constant hate.

Can’t say you consider someone family and then call someone out on national TV as if they were your charity case ??♀️ not how it works. Your family needs to tone down the white privilege, especially you if you plan on helping seek justice. You want to help? Then start with how your family addresses scandals, news and stories. Huge disappointment when it seemed you were heading the right direction.

@kimkardashian how about George Stinney—familiar with that case? Or the 7 exonerations in SC where 6 were BLACK men facing death penalty for ish they didn’t do....you stand by a man?? who STILL won’t apologize to the FIVE lives he took an ad out for their death. Are you so unaware that could have been YOUR son WRONGLY accused?! Wake up?
