makeuupjunkie A lot of chemical sunscreens do not protect against UVA rays which penetrate the deeper layers of the skin (where we have collagen). Zinc oxide is the only broad spectrum spf that protects against all forms of UV. Most chemical sunscreens are designed only to prevent sunburn, caused by UVB rays, and will do nothing to help against UVA which causes premature aging and sagging due to collagen breakdown. For those who absolutely need a chemical sunscreen, avobenzone offers UVA1 protection and oxybenzone protects against UVA2 and UVB

elysiapandabear Okay so the neutropenia 100+ spf I think is a chemical one, but it says it protects from uva and uvb. Can anyone recommend a sunscreen that is high spf and not greasy? I’m very fair so I burn easily.

samanthab611 Chemical sunscreens are a no go for my screen. I broke out terribly. My dermatologist said some people do and recommended a physical sunscreen.

amanisch If you are worried about the sun, where long loose fitting clothes. Remember your body needs the sun to make vitamin D.
