Our local church in my small town hung a Pride flag that was defaced. They hung another and that one was defaced, too. So the high school kids went over and drew rainbows and messages of inclusion all over the sidewalk out front. The next generation is not taking any BS. ❤️🌈

I don’t have anything negative to say about this post. I support any effort to stop violent acts against peaceful human beings. I disagree with certain matters regarding transgender persons in particular and lgbt issues in general but have never believed such matters should be solved by silencing, shouting down either side, or by violence. Can’t human rights be human rights? Can’t ALL humans be allowed the right to exist in peace and safety? A crime against a human being is a crime against a human being, no matter the victim. To anyone who deeply disagrees with this, I ask, is a human beings life worth less because they *arent* lgbt, not a certain race or a certain gender? If they cannot speak for themselves? Who has the *right* to decide the worth of a human life? I believe no one does. I worry about those that think they have that right.

F yeah. I work in a school district in BC. This stuff is just not an issue. They would rather include everyone and ask some more pressing questions like how are we going to exist with climate change etc. There are still issues certainly, but I have seen so much change from when I was a kid. We don't give kids enough credit. Yeah, they play too much fortnite, but there are issues that they didn't need to debate. Like this is my friend and they have just come out or are questioning their gender identity and regardless they will still be my friend. The kids just accept and move on to one of the serious questions. Thanks for being outspoken Jewel. I'm a former Ontarian and current BC'er and proud to be with kind folk like yourself.

I don’t understand how people can be like that and find it in themselves to deface a pride flag. Are these people afraid of the LGBTQ community? Why can’t people just let others live their lives without feeling the need to disrespect others! I see it everywhere, on other celeb posts, @katebeckinsale got a boat load of abuse for what she posted when at a pride parade (most recent I’ve seen) and also because a kid attended as well. The ones that disrespect ANYONE are the blight on this world. Let the LGBTQ community live in peace, let them be free of violence and just start accepting people for who they are! ?

Hi jewel I wanted to comment on this. I am straight I like women. But I have friends who are gay men and women both sides. I was reading a comment on an athlete's page about this being pride month and all these people were on this guy's page criticizing him and bringing up religion etc etc. And this athlete is probably one of the nicest athletes there is out there I just didn't like the people criticizing him. You have all these people that make comments on this guy's page say how religious they are but say things like they did on this guy's page.

I also wanted to say I am unable to go to conventions and stuff like I used to but at the first one I ever went to I am very shy anyways one of the first friends I ever made at those events was a woman who was gay she talked to me for a long time it really helped me when you go to those events and your a long way from home and you don't know anyone.

The little old ladies at my church made cookies and lemonade to serve to our protestors when our pastor was on the news marrying people at our Capitol when it was legalized. Love trumps hate every time:)
