With the extinction crisis looming and our terrible track record of extinction here in Australia, like many people, I've been thinking more and more about what we can do. .
Here in Canberra we're lucky enough to have @mulligansflat doing amazing work to create safe habitat for native species.

Meanwhile @australianwildlifeconservancy has huge areas under management around the country. Their predator-proof fencing and management that combines cutting edge science with tens of thousands of years of Aboriginal knowledge is leading to increases in numbers of endangered species, proving the crisis is solvable with the right thinking and resources. We really need political leadership on this, but in the meantime we can all support local efforts and play our part. .

rainyisabel Thanks for sharing. I am looking for these kinds of opportunities to volunteer now that I am "semi" retired. Politics drives me to despair, but the work of these kinds of small, local groups can make a difference!
