"I never wanted to write this song, it just kind of poured out of me. I tried to fight it at first but there was no stopping it.

I could tell I was writing about my dad, who I’ve never met. It’s a subject that I don’t really think about or care about. It’s never really bothered me to be honest. It never bothered me because my mum was so great, and I have such a great relationship with her. She was/is so strong as a single mother for my whole life that I never needed to think about my dad.

joey_w_king @deryckwhibley the song honestly struck a chord that you guys haven’t hit before. I’ve been a fan since the very beginning of you guys as a band and never caught a tear, but this one hit hard. I can relate to this on a personal level to. It’s a beautiful song and thank you for sharing it. This album has been shaping up to be the best you guys have done in my opinion and I’ve been stuck on does this look infected being my favorite for ages, but this is becoming a stiff competitor. Looking forward to hearing the rest.
