It was her guide, her solace, it’s what drove her, and in her final moments, it is what surrounded her. “i love you, you know that,” she would say to me, and i did, i knew it from the moment i was born, and i will know it till the moment i die. It was her greatest gift to me.

mennoderuiter777 your mum, 4 month ago on her smith instagram pseudo account, replied to me that she was taking the airplane to Amsterdam the same evening, when i posted on her gallery account if she liked to party in (my) Amsterdam. I knew, and wasnt surprised she is ageless. thus an Angel from birth and before. I was curious what her innercircle on that private account of her was, i guess a modern reflection of Studio 54 frequencies. Like tears in rain. The point is, there is no point. And that is why Andy is doing so clownesk in his life, he knows, there is no point. I believe your mother could see that. You are both, and now with 3, the prove her Golden sneakers, had meaning. There is no point, so why not just golden colored sneakers ! Why looking to the HUE and brightness of each unique human skin? one race, the human race, one smile, your mothers smile. The rest? ah well..there is no point, just listen to her never ending brainwaves floaring everywhere around you. Dont forget, she is still alive.

Let me first say that I am so very sorry about your mom's passing. I lost my mom several years ago and sometimes still catch myself thinking I should give her a call to run something by her, or whatever. Secondly, let me say that you have brought so much excellence to the field of journalism and news reporting through the years. You are truly my hero in that arena, and always will be. I read your book "Dispatches" a few years back, and it remains one of my very favorite reads ever. When you and your mother posed the question about why dottie and your mothers aunt took it to court. It seems to me all about $$$$,I don't understand your world , but would love to, I say respectfully you don't understand middle class people and there stressors, I have integrity and morals and under stress myself, but other people who don't will do horrible things to get $$$, so sad. You and your mothers world as so facastinaging . lolls66 I am so sorry for your loss. ☹️? Your Mother was an inspiration and a beautiful, classy lady. I grew up wearing her jeans- but she was so much more than a fashion designer. She was an extremely talented and smart lady. I really enjoyed watching the loving Mother/Son relationship that you had in your documentary. I wanted to reach out to you sooner, because my Grandmother told me she was your mom’s nanny. Not sure how true it was? But she emigrated from Ireland in the early 20’s and lived in Manhattan. Either way, I always felt a connection. When we lose our mother at any age, there is hole in our heart that can never replace it. My deepest condolences. ??
