First, I imagine you would rake the bunkers after each day of a tournament. You mow the greens and fairways, so bunkers should bye raked each day as well. Second what off the afternoon groups go out after a huge downpour. Now you've changed the rule of play because you have standing water in bunkers where you may avoid that had they been raked. It would be interesting to see what a frequently hit bunker looks like after an entire day of tournament play. Not sure I'm on board Jack ?

A good point but you also introduce more luck into the game. How would it be on the 18th hole of a major, a player is tied for the lead and knocks it into a greens side bunker. He lands in a foot print. Tournament over. I would like to see more grass bunkers and elevated greens. Elevation always adds character to a hole. We use to have a small par 3 hole on a local course that was straight uphill. You could not see the flag stick from the tee.

Wow what a terrible take by Greg and Jack. So basically what they're saying is a player who plays later in the day is at a huge disadvantage over those who play a nice, clean fresh course? Cmon. I'm the opposite. I think players SHOULD NOT have to hit out of divots. Why is it fair to hit a fairway and be penalized?

As a greenkeeper, bunker raking takes way too much time. They are a hazard, you land in them, they should be tough to get out, your not meant to be there. Pretty Certain Peter Thompson also said this many years ago. Raked once a week for maintenance purposes only.

Or maybe a though Greg. Why not make it fair on ALL players. Get a drop from fairway divots. ?? Why should anyone have to be penalised for a rough lie on a fairway from not there own doing. Just a thought. ?
