That brick tossed at Stonewall launching a liberation movement was thrown by a trans woman of color. Perhaps Pride needs to be a riot once again. Though a riot is one form of change, and we need many, the change we need must be deeper and more sustainable. The work is both internal reflection on power & privilege + external action.

I am wary about amplifying every loss, every death, every trauma enacted upon my sisters and siblings. I am aware. Very aware. We are more than what happens to us. We also make shit happen, too (from @leynabloom and @iamjarijones at Cannes and @indyamoore on ELLE and @mjrodriguez7 at the MTV Awards and @missmajor1 with House of GG and @soulfreedreams at @mpjinstitute and @tourmaliiine with @hbdmarsha and @fatfemme with Sephora and @wond3rwoman1 with NIKE and @theofficialtati with Equinox and @dominiquet.a.r.jackson on POSE) and are rarely given our flowers (or resources, or love, or care, or acknowledgement) when we are here and alive to smell them. Often times I feel we are yelling into the wind, yearning for folks fighting for black lives, women’s rights, gender justice, LGBTQ equality to hear our cries. I’m weary of reminding my siblings who live daily with the threat of violence looming that they are in danger by amplifying another fallen trans woman. We are familiar with fear and I yearn for us to become intimate with creating and living and loving. Maybe this post can inspire a few of y’all to become echoes, igniting vital change in your parts of the world. So you are aware: 10 trans women of color have been killed or reported dead in 2019, half of them in June (PRIDE MONTH), according to @outmagazine’s @raquel_willis.

autumbilgin @hazellebean omg I love what you just said his precisely the problem with the whole world!!! Most people do not care about anything that directly effect them. Like white privilege for example the term pisses people off a lot because they feel like they work hard and their not over privileged but maybe it’s not so much that they are over privileged but that their more privileged than others. But their are over privileged, entitled people and these very people are the ones who believe that there is no such think as what people refer to as white privilege. There is a woman who was with her family st a dollar store, her tot walked out of the store with a .99cent doll the police were called while the mother had know idea it had even happened. When police arrived one of the officers pulled a gun on the mother and her children over the doll had she been. white it would have been handled a lot differently. A lot of people can argue this but the ones that will are the ones it doesn’t directly effect, because it doesn’t directly effect them it doesn’t exist!!!

quinn__diesel And 82 Americans have been murdered in the past 3 days. Over 500 murders in this country this month alone so far. check the archives. So whats your point? Those numbers are low. Doesn't matter if they are gay or trans? People kill people its the sad truth. Their deaths aren't any more importsnt than the rest of the deaths that took place this month.

saraa_1aa Thats so sad T_T all sexualities should be accepted, my friend is a pedophile, he did never harm a child or something else. But he gets bullied for it... He also watches child porn but is always afraid that someone could find it out... I hope all sexualities will be accepted soon.
