There were a whole lot of superstars in the building last night but I was most excited to meet these brothers. As a kid who was becoming a teenager in NYC when the Central Park Five was on trial, their story reverberated with me in a real way. I remember the climate of the city at the time. I remember the full page ad Donald Trump placed in the NY Post calling for their execution. I remember my friends and I being called a “wolf pack” by police whenever there were more than 3 of us together. These memories do not compare to what the Central Park Five went thru. The strength, courage and grace these men have displayed thru their ordeal is hugely inspirational to me and we are better as a society because they refused to lay down and take it. God bless them.
