Dünyada en çok hangi kedi türünü görmek isterdin diye sorsanız, cevabım aslan, kaplan, çita olmazdı. Orta Asya’nın çok yüksek dağlarında ve steplerinde yaşayan Manul da denilen Pallas Kedisi olurdu. Onun en çok sevdiğim özelliği, bulunduğu yerlerde günlerce cirit atsanız bile varlığından haberdar olamamanız. Ancak doğada görüntüsünü alabilmek için yuvasının önüne fotokapan yerleştirildi. (harekete duyarlı sensörlü kameralar-bırakıp gidiyorsunuz, günler sonra gelip alıyorsunuz. Hareketli bir nesne önünden geçerse kayda alıyor.) Daha sonra kamerayı alıp bakınca bu efsane görüntü ortaya çıktı. Pallas Kedisi dahi olsa, çok yükseklerde yaşayıp kimseye görünmese bile, sonuçta bir kedi… Merakına yenilip, dikkatle kendisini o sırada kayda alan fotokapanı inceliyor. Hadi Manul’u eşiniz dostunuz, bütün kedi sever dostlarınız tanısın çünkü maalesef birçok canlı gibi onun da nesli tehlikeye yakın statüsünde kabul ediliyor 😞. If you ask me which cat species in the wild i like to see most, my answer is not a tiger, lion, cheetar or etc, but indeed this Pallas’s cat also called Manul, which is a small wild cat with a broad but fragmented distribution in the grasslands and montane steppes of Central Asia. They are so elusive and shy, even after a few weeks wandering around in their right habitat, you can have nothing but maybe some footprints. This video footage however was made with a camera trap. We put this one in front of its cave and after some days collected. Cat is a cat and curiosty kills the cat, this Pallas’s cat, can’t stop itself to come out of its hole to check that camera trap, resulted in a quiet funny and lovely video. If you never heard of this, share it with your cat lover friends, family because it is negatively affected by habitat degradation, prey base decline, and hunting, and has therefore been classified as Near Threatened by IUCN since 2002
