We were pricked, prodded, scanned, x-rayed and eyeballed. And we donated on some rather intimate personal data. My brother had the hardest job. Because he was stuck on Earth while I had the privilege of flying in space for nearly a year. . Space  is hard. The environment of space is hard too. Confinement, isolation, and exposure to environmental stressors such as microgravity, radiation, and noise make space a difficult place to be for a long period of time. If we want to go to Mars (which could take three years for a round trip) or anywhere farther, we need to understand how space effects the human body. .  The science continues!
