A House panel unanimously voted to advance a bill to reauthorize the September 11th Victims Compensation Fund on Wednesday, a day after comedian Jon Stewart made an impassioned speech in which he scolded members of Congress. "Shameful," he said of the lawmakers who didn't attend the hearing. "It's an embarrassment to the country and it is a stain on this institution."
