This striking Giant Petrel was found washed up on a beach in Newcastle recently.
He was suffering from exhaustion and was brought to our Wildlife Hospital here at Taronga. Our amazing vets worked on his rehabilitation. He had to be tube fed before he was able to eat on his own.
Seabirds can become lethargic if they don’t get enough fish to eat! We are big believers in sharing the ocean’s bounty and eating sustainable seafood so there is enough fish to feed all our amazing marine creatures. You can do your bit by choosing MSC certified seafood.
