#firstday of my attempt at a more #sustainable trip to #paradise - Knowing I had to fly to @hurawalhi in the #maldives, I packed as light as I could with a #merinowool filled bag. That way, I bring a lighter bag with less clothing that would require almost no washing and therefore less water usage. Also the shorts I’ll wear while diving & swimming are the #woolaroo shorts from @outerknown so no microscopic synthetic(plastic) fibers will wear off in the ocean or when I wash them. Wool fibers are #natural & #biodegradable #JonInTheMaldives @kindtraveler #travelkindly

maksim_kovalev84 Man I do appreciate your efforts, I know it's hard, I'm trying to do that myself. So please take what I'm about to say the right way - wool is natural but it is absolutely unethical. You can look up what's wrong with wool. Sheep are abused in the process, unfortunately.

evelynhunt1 I should’ve taken that advice when I traveled there. I think I brought 2 huge suitcases! Totally unnecessary. Enjoy your time and do as much diving and snorkeling as you can! 🐠🐡🦀🐢🌊
