Inequality is the biggest issue facing the world. Inequality in economics, gender, healthcare, education, opportunity, ethnicity, environment and of course housing. miss_mitzye Well said @aishatyler. Homelessness in L.A. County has risen by 12% over the last year and the city itself has seen a 16% increase in a year. That's 59,000 homeless people throughout the county and 36,300 within the city limits with the majority experiencing homelessness for the first time--including families living in cars. This a moral issue as well as an economic one given that some of the people displaced have jobs but they can't afford to rent anywhere.

portiar_traveller In the K-12 school system if you or your family don't have a home of your own you are considered homeless. So if you're family rents a a room in someone house or a kid couch surfs they are homeless. Homelessness is not just living in the street or sleeping in your car. It's living in a shelter or having to stay with other people while you get back on your feet.
