While we can't guarantee a lifespan for the battery due to varying factors, I can confirm that we would generally expect the battery to outlast the free 2-year guarantee provided with all new machines purchased from an authorized retailer. While we don't expect problems to occur, the guarantee is in place to help protect against any problems that may ever arise or come up with a new purchase. I'm also happy to share that we do also have many happy cordless Dyson owners who are still enjoying some of our earlier models today. Have had my cordless animal for about a little over two years. Customer service was great in replacing a part the first time I had an issue. I am now having issues with the battery not lasting more than 5-10 minutes. No solutions provided. Very dissatisfied with my purchase... literally saved forever for my purchase only to have to start my savings again and go with a different brand ?

@dyson this just keeps getting better with you clowns. Bought the Dyson Animal 2 at Costco a couple of weeks ago and it won’t work on my brand new plush carpet. There is no way to adjust the carpet motor head. I don’t know why Dyson would design a vacuum this way! I am done with Dyson and suggest that anyone reading this post not consider purchasing any Dyson products!
