Along with her late husband Sherap Jangbu Sherpa, she built one of the most comfortable and hospitable lodges in Namche. Along with their extended families they have helped us understand Sherpa culture. The two of always welcomed our family. In 2002 Sherap trekked with our group to Everest. In the first image our son @sam_loweanker and Lakpha grind peppers and oil to make corsani sauce in 2004. This was our first time as a family to the @khumbuclimbingcenter. In the second and third images Lakpha and Sherap celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary in 2016. @jenniloweanker and I cut the cake with Lakpha and we stand at the entrance in Sherpa finery that the two of them dressed for us. The fourth image is from last year. Sherap hosted our group and always insisted our group sit for a photo once we were adorned with kata scarves. As my coronary incident happened in the Khumbu we spoke about heart health and happiness. Six weeks later he died of a heart attack. It was a loss that struck close to home.
