Lillian Marcuson, a Vogue cover girl who was one of the first American models to work in Paris after World War II, has died. Of Swedish heritage and bilingual, Marcuson always seemed to have a sparkle in her eye, even when evoking the air of hauteur expected of mannequins in the 1950s, her heyday. In an ad for DuBarry cosmetics, photographer Richard Litwin described Marcuson as “a camera dream-girl,” which is how she’ll always be remembered.
