Yesterday i got to dance on the 5rhythms float through much of NYC. The gift of Bringing joy and dance to the streets, is beyond anything I will ever find in the material world. Gabrielle Roth’s method changed me when i was introduced to it 10 years ago. I was fortunate to be one of her students. She taught me to connect to my body in ways that no other movement form could. Certainly not the ballet world I grew up in. She taught me to dig deep into the depth of my soul and allow for it to come through my movement, no matter how silly or ridiculous. When I dance the rhythms, I am taken to places my mind could have never imagined. She taught me to move through pain, through struggle, through confusion, through all that lives in me. I am forever grateful. So, yesterday was and honor and a privilege.
