I’ve been up nights thinking about our daughters. Thinking about when I studied U.S. history, it always appeared to be in a state of progression. They are still learning about our country that way. Harlow is learning about the civil rights movement and Mazzy is learning about abolitionists. I’m wondering at what point they start learning about the current state we are living in. They know that racism still exists and women are still fighting for their rights, but they have no idea we are moving backwards. Breaks my heart.
