All I can give is my own experience which is that I never feel more “ALIVE” then when I’m co-existing with this amazing creature. When we dive we are experiencing an environment our body was not designed to survive in. For me I imagine it’s just like being in space which is why NASA trains underwater. It’s quiet. Then you add a shark, this being that has evolved into perfection over time swimming next to you and it’s nirvana. I saw JAWS as a kid and it made me so scared, every time I was in the ocean I was going to be attacked. It sucked. I finally went out and faced that fear and the minute that first shark swam by me my life changed. I realized they were NOT the monster I was told, instead just the opposite. A highly intelligent animal that wants nothing to do with humans. From that first encounter I have had a passion and desire to document, dice and just sit back and watch these amazing animals exist.
