I’ve been asked a lot about 108 animals that were confiscated from a lion breeding farm in Lichtenberg, North West Province, (including 26 lions) as to where they’re now going to go. It’s a really good question and the short answer is I don’t know at this stage, but it begs an even bigger question as to what is the destiny of the approximately 12000 lions being kept in captive conditions for petting, walking with experiences, canned hunting and the lion bone trade, should the lion breeding industry be shut down by government? It’s a horrible thing to think about but one that we should start to give serious thought to if the industry gets snuffed out. #bancannedlionhunting #cannedlionhunting #lionbonetrade #cubpetting
