Okay. Summery for other awesome people who are planning to keep this amusing conversation going:
1) I’m not talking about CLINICAL DEPRESSION. I’m talking about people who are feeling blue and claim to have “depression”. (P.S I will keep on writing word “depression” in brackets (see, yeah?) as I 100% know that some geniuses will forget what I was talking about. So I even make it easier for you. You may even not turn on your brain)great. Let’s move on
2) There’s no point of discussing “depression”. You talk about your “depression” -> focus more on it-> feel sad-> get more “depressed”
3) If you have “depression” it means that there’s smth wrong in you life. If you’re living your life you feel good. So, a key to YOUR happy leaving is to fix this stuff (yup, you maybe even do not know what that is but there’s is like 100% smth not right)
4) ?? Okay, if you haven’t understood smth ask me. It seems to me that you all even did not want to listen to me and understand me and started talking shit about some hash clinical stuff.
So. Summery. If you’re having “DEPRESSION” stop suffering and hoping that someone will help you and finally take responsibility of your own life

I do no have depression so I cannot talk for you, but I hope my insight can still help you: I get artblocked BECAUSE of breaks. Not from drawing, but from creativity itself. I become more inspired when I am into a topic already, or when I come up with a story I want to express visually. When I stop exploring topics and writing, then the art block comes, because usually my drawings come as a consequence of the drawing before it. If I let the topic cool, I end up being into nothing and procrastinating creative work completely. So, what I do is jump to easier crafts, stuff I will know will turn out fine and that usually helps me get back on track. ? I think showing stuff you are not so proud of could help you too, we tend to think the stuff we do not produce out of inspiration and motivation is not very good, but usually... it is. Because inspiration or not, the skill IS there. It is hard to believe it sometimes, but it definitely is!

@merlley_ the ignorance is just— depression is a result of so many things. Yes, there are aspects of one’s life that one with depression can work on and “solve”, which may help some people. But as so many people here have pointed out, depression can be and is caused by genetics. The literal STRUCTURE AND HORMONAL balance of the brain is different for those who struggle with mental health. Haha yup, let’s just “solve” that! And as @that.spamjam mentioned, the reason is seems that so many more people have depression is because it is only recently being addressed as a serious illness. Now that we have technology, such as MRI, the existence of differences in the brain have been confirmed. Those with depression can work their asses off to make healthy and positive choices in their lifestyle, but that doesn’t enable them to outrun genetic predisposition.

@lwrendraws ohhhh boiiii I’m like super bored to inserting that all. Anyway. Please read my earlier answers. When this conversation started I mentioned I was not talking about clinical depression. I was talking about people who feels blue and claim to have it. And I said “depression” of that kind is a result of people’s actions/ or people not doing this or that things. Heeeeell. And I said having depression in not okay because EVEN IF WE ARE TALKING ABOUT CLINICAL DEPRESSION it is a disease. Is it okay to have diabet? No. Because that means you’re ill. Is it okay to have a head ache? No. Because you feel bad -> not okay. Okay is to be healthy. AND if I say that it is not okay I do NOT (caps as neither of you can understand this, seems to me) claim that people with depression should be abused.

@illustrations_julie (excuse my spellings in my last comment - the post sent too early) i got pressured about my drawings being perfect or stressing over finding my style (because every artist "needs a style") I feel like maby what you need is a little break to go back and find what in art brought you joy and without overthinking -follow it. Draw whatever inspires you, to bring your passion back. Art issn't there to stress you but to help express yourself and your feelings. Hope i helped ❤❤

@merlley_ Darling if you didn't mean it as a hating comment, don't post it under a post in which someone tries to open up about their (negative) feelings. It's alright to have an opinion and not get why people feel a certain way, but typing this and hitting enter without thinking a minute before you do hurts a bunch of people who struggle with things you don't understand yet. Feel free to ask why people feel a certain way but ya might wanna be a bit more subtle about it love.
