@hrhthedukeofyork is in South Korea carrying out Royal engagements in Seoul and Andong. During the visit, The Duke is focussing on his core areas of work, including Business and Entrepreneurship. In Seoul HRH will host the first ever #pitchatpalace South Korea, showcasing entrepreneurial talent across South Korea.
Twenty years ago, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh visited South Korea on a State Visit. Today, The Duke followed in The Queen’s footsteps, retracing Her Majesty’s programme in the traditional riverside village, Hahoe. The Queen visited Hahoe Village on her 73rd birthday, 21st April 1999.
Afterwards, The Duke visited Bongjeongsa Temple, Korea’s oldest surviving wooden building. Here The Duke laid a fragment of ceramic as a prayer offering, just as Her Majesty The Queen did 20 years ago. (📷1)
