what’s up guys! i know i’ve been super inactive lately and for the past year or so haven’t been posting like i used to. on a more personal note i have been struggling with many many things over the past year or two, i feel like i lost myself and was not living the life i know to be true. Recently i have started learning about the gospel for my self and have had incredibly beautiful experiences, i have been able to stop extremely bad habits, love myself more and have much much better confidence, this all happened through prayer and reading scriptures and asking my heavenly father for help. The reason i’m sharing this is because i want you guys to feel what i have felt, and i want you guys to have help with anything you’re struggling with because i know you are not alone. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and am very proud and humbled to be able to say that. Please message me with any questions, you can also go to the link in my bio for more information! I love you all and would love to invite you on this amazing journey!

@katie_pamela Moroni 10:32 says:
“Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of *all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, *then is his grace sufficient for you…”
The LDS member who is seeking Christ’s grace must do two things BEFORE grace kicks in…
1) Deny yourselves of ALL ungodliness (in otherwords stop sinning entirely!!)
2) Love God with all your might, mind and strength.
I ask those LDS Members who are reading this… how many of you have denied yourselves of ALL ungodliness? Have you lied? Had an impure thought? Thought poorly about your neighbor? Gossiped? Gotten angry at your spouse?Children? Neighbor? Have you sworn? If so, then you have NOT denied yourselves of ALL ungodliness and according to your church’s theology Christ’s grace does not apply to you. In order to be saved under LDS Theology you must be “obedient to the laws of the gospel” and this law says that one must consecrate (give) their time and talents NOT to God…. but to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Let’s suppose you actually did manage to deny yourself of *all ungodliness. You wouldn’t be dependent on Christ because you did it all yourself. See? The Christian gospel teaches that grace isn’t based on what *you can do for Christ, but what Christ already did for you. ? Mormonism teaches the meaning of Grace, teaches a works based gospel (similar to jw’s, Muslims, seventh day Adventist’s, etc) teaches a different Jesus, follows false prophets and false apostles.

@katie_pamela While you personally may have faith and belief in a Christ.. A false Christ/Idol can’t save you. Jospeh Smith made a false god after his own image. Joseph taught God was once a man who lived on another planet, and had to earn his godhood, has many wives and resides on Kolob. (Christians are taught that God is eternal, no beginning no end.). Brigham Young and many other prophets taught that God physically procreated with Mary (denying the virgin birth Christianity adheres to) Mormonism teaches polygamy and still practices spiritual polygamy. (Example :Your prophet Nelson and Dallin Oaks are spiritually married to multiple women and believe they will have them and more in the after life.). Joseph Smith created a ‘works based’ religion. In order to get into the ‘celestial kingdom’ to live with God.. you have to be *mormon baptized (hence Mormons baptizing the dead posthumously) , *mormon married, pay the Mormon church tithes in order to enter their temple where you learn all the secret handshakes, Masonic tokens and signs (Jospeh stole from the Masonic lodge) to get into heaven. etc etc etc. I have given you many sources, even lds.org, that you could look into to know that you’re following a false Jesus, Prophet and gospel... but I can’t make you seek the truth. The information is all there. God Bless.

@missyholding thank you for offering to send me the book, I’ll look it up. Also, I have read the CES letters. Like I said, I’m not interested in converting anyone by my comments (I know, that’s very contrary to the typical Mormon intentions), but in every religion there is portions of history, actions of leaders, or points of doctrine that are wrong, misunderstood, or mocked. You’ll find it in Christianity, Catholicism, Islam, wherever. However, when someone is part of a religion that we passionately disagree with, we automatically try to convince them of their wrong ways or we assume their ignorant, uneducated, damned whatever it may be. That is not always the case. I hope that one day we can more readily accept not necessarily other people’s faith, but their choice in what to have faith in. I respect your faith, and I genuinely believe that it makes you a better person and that is what matters. (It’s what matters to God too- I do not believe that only members of ANY certain faith, including Mormons, will be saved.) but anyways, thanks for your genuine conversation with me. I’ll look into your recommendations.

@estherhadassah999 Yes, I totally agree! Jesus is Lord. The good and unique news of the gospel is that we’re saved by grace. ❤️ The tricky thing about sharing that message with Mormons is that they actually *do read and use the kjv bible. They just believe it’s been ‘mistranslated’ and that things have been ‘lost’ and Joseph Smith ‘restored’ what was lost from the Bible. (Polygamy secret handshakes, second anointing, priesthoods, etc etc ) The good news is that there are a lot of Mormons learning about the many problems with their history , narrative, leaders and gospel and it is driving many of them closer to the biblical Christ. ? While Mormons believe in many christian principals & claim that they believe in the same Jesus... every practice that is unique to Mormonism is riddled with problems and at the end of the day, they teach a *works based gospel, not salvation by Grace through Jesus Christ. Different Jesus, Different gospel and following false prophets. Pray for Mormons. ?? there’s hope and power in speaking the truth to them like you did in the comments. Take care

@katie_pamela I would invite you to read Unveiling Grace by Lynn Wilder. As a convert to Mormonism and a tenured professor at BYU, She explains the difference between the Christian view of grace and the Mormon view of grace much better than I can. I know you ‘claim’ to believe the Bible, but your 8th article of faith undermines it credibility. Additionally You’re 3rd article of faith “ we believe that all mankind may be saved through obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel” shows that the Mormonism teaches you are ‘saved through obedience to laws’. I hope you’ll take the time to Look up Galatians 1:6-9. Then look up the first account of Joseph first vision where he said he saw an angel of light. Get on lds.org and check out the gospel topics essays on polygamy, the book of Abraham. Do some research on the complete lack of historical evidence for the Book of Mormon and compare that with the Bible. The Bible is a collection of allegory, poetry & history, but there is a mountain of evidence for it’s historicity. God bless

@missyholding there’s a lot going on in your post, but I highly recommend reading His Grace Is Sufficient by Brad Wilcox. It’s a great explanation of an LDS understanding of Christ’s sacrifice. At the end of the day, the Bible itself has a complicated and controversial history, with many of its most basic principles being interpreted by imperfect men throughout Christian history. I completely respect your viewpoint, but at the end of the day Mormons come about their beliefs the same way that you have through faith, divine guidance, and life experience. You are convinced that Mormons are wrong, which is fine. But you are just as likely to be wrong about your beliefs as they are about theirs. I wish you the best, and I hope we as humans can learn to be more willing to support each other in our beliefs rather than search out ways to tell others how their wrong.
