コートニー・ハルヴァーソンさんのインスタグラム写真 - (コートニー・ハルヴァーソンInstagram)「My mother gave me my love for vintage. I grew up wearing almost entirely secondhand clothing - because we didn’t have a lot of money, I knew no other way. Going to thrift stores with my mother and my sister was the normal for back to school shopping, and we were taught that there’s nothing wrong with used clothing. Some of my favorite memories are of shopping secondhand with my mom - something we both still share a love for. As I got older I started looking for vintage pieces, for weird styles, and for random knickknacks that I could decorate with. My first job was working at a secondhand store and I loved getting to see the clothing as it came in. It’s where I first discovered the brand that I’m wearing in this photo. It’s a line that doesn’t exist anymore but I adored @dearcreatures, and would always keep my eye out for their pieces while I worked. I wanted this very dress SO badly nearly 10 years ago, but buying it new was out of the question. I never found it in my size secondhand, so I sort of figured it would never happen. Then just a few months ago, shopping at an estate sale, I found it. I was doing the same thing I always did - combing through used and vintage clothing for treasures, and I found this very dress in the way I wanted to. A lot has changed for me in the years since working weekends at Buffalo Exchange, but I’m glad to know how much has stayed the same. In this photo my whole outfit, my suitcase, and even my car are vintage - without even planning it. I’m so grateful to my mother for teaching me the value in things that aren’t new - and I like to think that past Courtney would be so happy to know that she kept her love of all things secondhand. And that she finally got that dress.」5月13日 1時14分 - prettylittlefawn
