At the 2014 Nationals, my first one, i qualified with the minimum total and finished in dead last. In 2016, after clawing my way to the B session, i wrote the number 200 on a big piece of paper i hung on the wall in front of my platform at the gym. I told myself if i worked hard enough it was possible. I am not naturally gifted at weightlifting- I have earned this moment over the last 5 years of my career to reach this milestone total. I chose to focus on myself and my own goals throughout the journey and that has given me the chance to appreciate every small step in the right direction. Just so happens setting personal goals and chipping away at them little by little landed me on the podium at Nationals as well-🥈Silver Medal Snatch & tied for 3rd total - AT NATIONALS. This sport has given me heartache after heartache, but i never lost the faith in myself.
