RuPaul worked with his longtime costume designer @ZaldyNYC on a custom zebra-striped suit for the Met. His ensemble came in shades of pink, purple, and black, and was entirely covered in sequins. On the left shoulder, Zaldy added a flock of black ostrich feathers to resemble a zebra mane. And it was an apt choice: in terms of animal references, zebras, along with flamingos—which were used as decorations inside the museum—are amongst the most faboo, a word that describes the overall aesthetic on Monday.
