However, it was actually much trickier than I thought it would be and although the elements you can see here are basically plastic free, there is nylon in my socks, my shoe laces have plastic tips, the cardigan buttons are plastic, there are nylon labels in the cardigan and beret and my underwear contains plastic. It’s a massive reminder for me that if we live in this plastic world, we must at least try to live more sustainably and encourage so much less new plastic clothing. More of the story and lineage of my clothes below... —————————————————— •Beret - ( wool )bought in the 1980’s in a sale from MEXX. The black trim used to be covered in a plastic faux leather but it has all come off over the years. •Neck Scarf - ( 100% Silk ), designed and made by me •Earrings - ( metal ) made by @vivienne.ridley from vintage make-up compacts •Cardigan - ( wool ) An accidentally shrunken Laura Ashley from the 1990’s which was my mum’s •Dress - ( cotton ) A vintage 1940’s or 50’s dress I’ve had since my teens.
