Now, at 17, I still don’t know what I want to be. But no matter what I become, I want to do so in a world that still has mountains. I grew up hiking in the valleys of the White Mountains of New England. From the first time I saw them, the rolling hills and crisp mountain air took my breath away. It’s a feeling that can never be manufactured, that will stay with me for the rest of my life. That’s why we need an equitable price on carbon pollution. I don’t want to lose this place I love, the one place where I had ever felt completely at peace.
