As a normal person posting on ig, I agree, I don’t really care if people can or cannot see my likes under my posts as long as I love the photo. It reminds me of when I started, I was doing all this cause I simply loved photography and travels. With time, instagram became half personal and half business for me. On one hand I wanted to post photos I really loved but you know artistic photos don’t do really good on instagram for some reasons 🌌 That’s strange but still a fact and when your entire career is based on those statistics, you have no choice to look at them and it’s not even about getting the more attention and feeling like a better person just cause you have more likes. It’s also about the statistics you’re gonna send to companies or even investors if you have your own. You just get stuck into that even if you don’t want to. I personally never feel sad when a photo doesn’t get that many likes cause I’ve been doing instagram for so long that even before posting I already know how good or not my photo is gonna do. I’m telling you all that cause I know for alot of people that might not make sense or open your eyes on what the likes really can be for your favorite instagrammers cause nop, it is not just about feeling loved and popular ✌🏽 so basically, I’m for it butttt at the same time, I am also a company and I am the one looking for big celebs to promote my brand and thinking that people can literally just buy 4m followers and have no engagement cause that’s the only number we can see is very scary for me. I invest alot in promotion and it feels scary to put thousands of dollars on people who might have actually no real people following them you know ??? Hope now it helps you seeing the side of a company about that subject.
